Here's one for those of you who like ulu (breadfruit)
I prefer the not-fully-ripe (green) ulu, so the
following recipe is for the green ulu.

When there's alot of white sap flowing out of the green ulu that's the
time to pick it and use the following recipe.

Oil knife with cooking oil so the white sap will not stick
to the knife and cut skin of ulu. Slice ulu into
1-1/2 to 2 inch slices and cut off and throw away the seed area.
Then cut up the slices into chucks. While doing this, keep
ulu in a bowl of water so it doesn't turn brown in color.
In a pot, put ulu chucks and add water to cover. Add 5 garlic
cloves, 1 hawaiian chili pepper and Hawaiian salt. Simmer till
tender, about 20 minutes. Poke with chop stick to see if tender.
When tender take out of water and let it cool off, so some of the
water content evaporates. (At this point, it freezes well in the refrig
for months for later use.)

Now, salt and pepper ulu chucks and fry in butter. It will be
crispy on the outside and tender inside, plus very tasty.
That's it! Enjoy!!!
